Tate Unruh hit a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to help Branson’s margin of victory reach double digits in its Class 4 District 11 semifinal 65-47 win over Reeds Spring on Wednesday.

More importantly, the treys gave Unruh a a whole different perspective on his shot entering tonight’s championship game at 7 with Republic.

“I hit a couple to get my confidence going, which was nice going into our next game,” Unruh said in summing up his 11-point night, which featured about as many misses from 3-point land on his part as he had the entire Blue & Gold Tournament.

“I think I came out not concentrating on my form,” he added. “ My ball was flat. I have to get a better arc on my shot.”

Unruh was so uncharacteristically off target that the Wolves left him open.

“They were letting me shoot,” he said.

Branson coach Randy Bishop also felt good about Unruh hitting his two late 3s.

“He couldn’t buy one early,” Bishop said. “That happens with all shooters, even Larry Bird. But our next game he might go off and hit his first 10.”
