AVA — Kendall Webb didn’t score the hat trick he was seeking on Saturday as Ozark Mountain ATV Raceway hosted the Extreme Dirt Track ATVA Nationals for the first time.
But the Branson junior did post two wins while competing in three classes.
Webb, enjoying a home-track advantage for the first time on the ATVA circuit, enjoyed checkered-flag finishes in both the Production A and 4-Stroke A classes, but was forced to take a DNF in the 265 A class.
In the 265 A race, Webb was twice spun out while being hit by other drivers and then was slowed by a mishap in front of him, leading to his early exit from the race.
It was his second DNF in the 265 A class this season. Earlier this year, he was leading a race when engine trouble forced him to the pits.
Webb entered the day atop the points standings for the Production A and 4-Stroke A classes and was second in the 265 A class.
The Tri-Lakes Area was well-represented in victory lane and among the top place-winners in various classes.
Also recording firsts was Branson’s Seth Gann in the 90 modified class, Forsyth’s Bill Stewart in the Production C class, Branson’s Wyatt Gann in the Youth Production class and Branson’s Sterling Davis in the 50 CVT class.
Runner-up finishes included Branson’s Kurt Tweedy in the Production B class, Davis in the 50 Single-Speed Class and Forsyth’s Grant Walker in the 70 Shifter class.
Taking thirds were Tweedy in the 265 B class and Forsyth’s Garrett Holmes in the 70 Shifter class.
The red-clay track featured a 100-foot elevation change, a recently built 30-foot-wide concrete over/under option lane and rolling jumps.
Entering the weekend, Wyatt Gann was first in points in the Youth Production class and Seth Gann was first in the 90 cc modified class.
The Ava stop was Round 5 of eight-round nationals schedule.
Drivers will next take to Dixieland Speedway in Elizabeth City, N.C., on Aug. 25. for Round 6.
Round 7 will be in Franklin, Pa., and Round 8 in Paducah, Ky.
