Friday afternoon crash injures two Crane men

A Branson woman was injured Monday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash south of Branson and two people from Crane are recovering from a head-on collision Friday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol has reported.
Just before 1 p.m. Monday, Brandi L. Woodruff, 35, of Branson, was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi northbound on Missouri 165, a mile-and-a-half south of Branson, when Woodruff’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned, the patrol reported.
Woodruff suffered moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to Skaggs Regional Medical Center in Branson, according to the patrol.
On Friday afternoon, two men from Crane were injured in a two-vehicle crash eight miles northwest of Branson, the patrol reported.
According to the patrol’s report, at 3:15 p.m. Friday, a 2008 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Robert G. Bassett, 40, was close to or on the center line when Kenneth W. Wise, 49, who was driving a 1996 Buick Century, overreacted and crossed the center line. The two vehicles struck head-on in the eastbound lane and ran off the road and struck a sign and fence, the patrol reported. The crash occurred on U.S. 160 at HH Highway, according to the report.
Wise suffered serious injuries and Bassett suffered moderate injuries, according to the patrol’s report. Both were transported to Cox Medical Center-South in Springfield, the patrol reported.
Western Taney County Fire Protection District responded to the crash.
According to Chief Chris Berndt, both vehicles where close the sliding into a pond. Each driver had to be extricated by crews from the Western Taney.
